History of North Hills

North Hills was originally planted by Crossroads Christian Church in 2001. It was then re-launched in May, 2006 by a small, but faithful group of believers committed to “building a community of faith, hope, and love where Christ is exalted and lives are transformed.” We recognize that Jesus builds this community (His church) through the lives of ordinary people who have turned from their sin and trusted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. One of the many privileges of becoming a Christian is being united with people of diverse backgrounds, abilities, and personalities into a dynamic community where faith, hope, and love are expressed through worship, fellowship, service, and outreach.

Our ultimate goal at North Hills is to exalt, honor, and glorify Christ in all that we do. The Bible says, “So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” (1 Corinthians 10:31) The amazing thing that happens when the glory of God becomes our focus is that lives are changed to become more and more like Jesus! “And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.” (2 Corinthians 3:18)

We also recognize that to build such a community requires people who are fully devoted to reading, hearing, meditating on, savoring, and applying God’s Word, the Bible. (Psalm 1:1-3; Romans 10:17; 2 Timothy 3:16-17). This is still the primary means for experiencing a Christ-centered, Spirit-filled life that brings joy, blesses others, and strengthens the church.
